The U.S. plans to build a quantum center in Chicago. The center will have a capacity of up to one million qubits and will be the largest quantum computing center in the country.
The American company C-Quantum has completed plans to build the largest quantum computing center in the United States and plans to build an error-resistant quantum computing center in cooperation with the state of Illinois, Chicago and Cocanti. In general, a quantum computer needs one million qubits to be operational. This number will be necessary to achieve the critical threshold as well as correct the quantum error. C-Quantum said important industries such as pharmaceuticals, materials, services, finance, manufacturing, and agriculture require extensive quantum computing capabilities.
Professor Jeremy Ober-In, the company's CEO and co-founder, said: "Quantum computers have so far only made theoretical promises, but the current infrastructure project as a quantum park and microelectronics could turn the development of this technology from a dream to a reality. According to him, the governor of Illinois has partnered with the project by understanding the potential of quantum computing, and during this collaboration, the state's quantum strategy is to be built along with the first quantum computer on an application scale.
The company's goal is not to produce small-scale quantum computers, but instead to develop and test intermediate systems as suitable quantum computers. These mid-range computers will include cabs, chips, and superconducting photon detectors. C-Quantum said it chose larger-scale systems because they could adequately track error correction and performance at a reasonable cost.
