Description
The new SenDisk card has a capacity of 4TB SD-type with an ultra-fast UHS-I interface that can transfer data at speeds of 104 MB/s.
The world's first SD card with a four-terabyte storage space is set to be marketed under the SanDisk brand. Western Digital said in a statement that SDUC standards are included in this new memory card. According to this standard, memory cards can be manufactured up to 128 terabytes.
The company's official announcement of the UHS-I Memory Extreme Pro uses the ultra-fast UHS-I interface, so it can easily transfer data at speeds of up to 104 megabytes per second. Also, the write speed of this memory card is as low as 30 Mbps, which can be suitable for recording 8K video.
Western Digital says the memory card will be released in 2025 and the price hasn't been officially determined yet. But at $140 a terabyte version will probably come with a price of around $600. This new SanDisk product can be very attractive to digital camera users. It also enables the recording of large videos for these users. Users of laptops equipped with SD ports can also use this memory card to store more information.
Western Digital plans to release 2TB of the Ultra Pro SDXC models with UHS-I and microSDXC support. This summer, it will be time for both products to enter the market. Also, the new series of SD and MicroSD memory cards has been released, which can deliver speeds up to 4.4 times faster than current SenDisk cards.
